In the automation industry, CODESYS is well known and established as the standard IEC 61131-3 platform. Hundreds of different industrial controllers are engineered with the tool or its derivatives. The software's comprehensive communication features play an important role here. They allow for PLC applications to be loaded onto a device, debugged in online mode, and also for I/O data to be read and written via fieldbus or proprietary protocols. Secure data exchange with other devices or units via OPC UA is also an essential feature of the platform.
